NEW: Next MA in Education Amsterdam programme commences Thursday November 13th 2008 at 5.00pm until Saturday November 15th 2008 at the British School of Amsterdam Upper School site at Fred. Roeskestraat. E-mail wiecpd at brookes.ac.uk for an application form now .
The annual COBIS Conference, Amsterdam runs alongside the MA and at the same venue but commencing 9.00am Friday November 14th. The theme this year builds on the success of last year Creativity & Learning for All. linking creative approaches to ideas around the thematic curriculum. Sessions will include discussion around curriculum models based on practical workshops in music, maths, drama, and art. These 2 day courses are appropriate for teachers and classroom assistants. Full details and application forms for the teachers’ conference will appear soon on - Check out the COBIS website for details.
The Amsterdam Centre is based at the British School of Amsterdam near the Olympic Stadium on Fred. Roeskestraat. Hospitality, facilities and accessibility are second to none in the new wing at the secondary school. A small study room with internet access and a library containing every course text book supports student learning. The Amsterdam Centre programme commenced in November 2006 with 21 students. The flying faculty of tutors visits in November (2.5 days), March (2 days) and May (2.5 days) each year. If you are based in Northern Europe - Holland, Belgium, Germany, France, or in one of the Scandinavian countries for example then Amsterdam may be the most convenient centre for you.
The home page blog gives access to a wide range of information about the course including the student handbook, modules and the detailed session timetables.
